Nutrition : Nutrition is the  science of foods .the nutritions and other substance they in there action there interaction and balance in relationship to health and diseases........




Nutrition can also be defined as (Food at work in the body) nutrition must perforce be concerned with tha social economic cultural and psychological implications of food and eating




It is the application of science and arts of human nutrition in helping people to select and obtain food for the primary purpose of nourishing their bodies in health are in disease througout their lives......




Nutrients: Nutrients are the continents in food that must be supplied to the body in suitable amounts these are protiens ,carbohydrates,fats minerals,vitamins and water.............


Classify nutrients according to their functions?



When nutrients are classified in  to three types




1)Energy yielding foods




2)Body building foods




3)Protective foods


  • Energy yielding foods:

                  
              Foods rich in carbohydrates and fats are called energy yielding foods.......



Ex: 




     Foods,cerals,roots,dried fruits,fats are included in this group they are the main sources of energy  doing work.


  • Body building foods:




         Foods rich in protins are called body yielding foods............




Ex:




             Eggs,pulses,oil seeds,nuts,low fat oil seeds,and flours are included in the group of body building foods.Protins are required for growth in children and maintenance of body weight in adults......


  • Protective foods:




          Foods rich in protins,vitamins and minerals are termed as protective foods........




Ex: 




         Milk,eggs,liver,green leafy vegetables and fruits included in to groups
